Fastvan is a logistics and fulfillment orchestration platform driven by AI. It optimizes both inbound and outbound logistics operations and is used by leading brands to automate their fulfillment processes. The platform enables the planning of all shipments from origin to destination, maintaining a centralized view, real-time visibility, and significantly reducing shipment costs.

Inbound and Outbound Shipment Optimization: Simplifying the management of deliveries and collections, including auto assignment, real-time driver tracking, and electronic proof of delivery. It also facilitates the planning and consolidation of intermodal shipments using multimodal transportation.
Automated AI-Driven Dynamic Route Planning and Optimization: This feature manages delivery and collection routes, considering factors like location, traffic, route times, and vehicle capabilities. It aims to cut shipping costs by arranging shipments efficiently and minimizing empty miles to reduce fuel costs.
Real-Time Shipment Visibility, Predictions, and Events: Fastvan provides automated two-way communication, delivery slot management, order tracking, and alerts for event notifications.
Omni-Channel Order Fulfillment: The platform streamlines same and next-day order fulfillment, matching order and fulfillment centers based on delivery locations and automates pickup and delivery scheduling.
Global Carriers Network: Fastvan offers access to a vast network of global carriers, enabling advanced shipping options and rate comparisons on an international scale without needing to build a separate logistics network.
Business Analytics and Performance Enhancement: It includes visual scheduling for dispatching, analytics for operational insights, and a cross-docking overview to manage shipments across the supply chain.

Our team was brought to the project in order to assess and improve existing route planning module of the application using external service.
In our work at Koitechs, we focused on the complex aspect of logistics known as 'first and last mile' delivery. This involves managing the initial and final stages of transportation, which are often the most challenging. Our project required coordinating over 50 trucks and drivers, each with unique attributes and availability. We meticulously gathered and optimized detailed information about every vehicle and driver to match them with appropriate delivery routes. This process was vital to ensure deliveries were efficient and feasible, addressing specific needs such as timing, location, and capacity. By doing so, we aimed to enhance the overall efficiency of the delivery system, particularly in these critical first and last segments, where precision and reliability are key to customer satisfaction.
Additionally, at Koitechs, we upgraded an outdated mobile application to handle real-time data crucial for managing delivery routes. This involved integrating a system that received live socket information from our drivers' mobile applications, providing updates on their geolocation, the estimated time to the next stop, and the overall ETA for the delivery. This enhancement was key to achieving near real-time tracking, greatly improving the efficiency and reliability of the logistics process. By doing so, we ensured that both the logistics team and the customers received timely and accurate information about the status of their deliveries.

While working on the mobile application and the routing system at Koitechs, our team, dedicated to this specific functionality, had to constantly update our colleagues about our progress and achievements. This continuous communication was crucial, as it allowed the rest of the team to integrate and utilize the newly developed features with the existing front-end and back-end systems. This collaborative approach ensured that every aspect of the project was in sync and that the enhancements we were making could be effectively incorporated into the broader system for optimal performance and efficiency.
In addition to regular stand-ups and synchronous communication with our clients, maintaining an open channel with the development teams responsible for other parts of the application was vital. To enhance efficiency and coordination, we at Koitechs employed agile Kanban planning. This method allowed us to provide intermediate demos to stakeholders and the team, ensuring everyone was aligned and aware of our progress and innovations. This approach not only streamlined our workflow but also fostered a collaborative environment, crucial for the seamless integration of our developments into the larger application.

Upon concluding our involvement in the project, our team at Koitechs successfully delivered a production-ready mobile application and an advanced routing system. This system was capable of handling the entire delivery process, from the initial request idea to the assignment of the last mile delivery. This significant achievement enabled our clients to proceed to the release phase with a fully operational, production-ready application, marking a major milestone in enhancing their delivery and logistics capabilities.
